Mushrooms

A lacquered wood senryuzutsu in the form of three mushrooms.

Made up of two long stalks, the heads nestled together. From the slightly smaller of the two stalks, a young mushroom shoot is growing (forming the himotoshi). To my mind mind the iconography of this simple, but beautiful pipecases is clear, family!

Signed: Koko saku (?) Last part of the 19th - very early 20th Century.
