Oni & Okame

A stag-antler senryuzutsu, carved in the form of an Oni.

Standing upright wearing only tiger skin shorts. Both his arms extended out in front of him and cupping an Okame mask. Eyes inlaid in brass and applied deer hair around the head.

Anonymous. Asakusa. Last half of the 19th Century.

Probably alluding to the setsubun (bean throwing) festival.
