Hannya Mask

A large boldly carved model of a Hannya mask.

The details are worn and smoothed with age and the wood has developed a pleasing patina. A tactile Netsuke, suitable on its own but if matching to a Sagemono is your thing, this would suit a Tobaccoire or Tonkotsu of related design admirably.

Probably Edo School, Late 18th - Early 19th Century.

6.8cm High
